"This series, as with all of my series', focuses on themes of principle, sentiment, and diversification. "Salt" portrays how all of these pertain to my faith and personal belief systems- as well as my daily observations, experiences, and encounters with people. For the most part, this series represents the need for one's self to step back, and look at the world from a different perspective, as well as reserving time to better know and identify with one's self in a more intimate, personal way. In some aspects, society can take the unique and diverse qualities away from an individual; slowly adapting them to the social norms in a flawed society. I wanted to take a stand against that-to highlight the importance of remaining true to one's self and perspectives of the world. Each painting in this series contains some level of surrealism, drawing the eye all over the canvas with the considered use of unique compositional arrangements paired with realistic and stylised figures "
