Sketches "For me, sketching is the most vital process in a painting, It gives you time to process your thoughts, to construct the theme, to envision what the painting will look like before you paint it, Sketching provides me with the opportunity to experiment with values, and to figure out what goes where. With all of my series', i try to keep the theme consistent, and to draw the eye from one part of the canvas to the next-whether it be numerous doors spiraling into the sky, or buttons vanishing into the distance. I pour countless hours into my sketches, concepts, and compositions-trying to relate the work to myself and others. By the time i have a finished painting, i am always amazed at how one sketch could take me this far." -Connor  |
